Fact Check
Through a keyword search, Alt News discovered that Amar Ujala had visited the scene to provide a first-hand account. Under the heading “On the one hand, while the climate is heated in the country regarding caste and religion, this temple in Chhattisgarh is an example of Hindu-Muslim cooperation,” they released a video report.
A number of people from both communities, as well as the temple’s priest, state that joint prayer services between Hindus and Muslims have been going on for centuries in the video.
As time went on, the news story was also covered by Aaj Tak and Republic Bharat. Digital Forensics, Research, and Analytics Centre previously verified this assertion (D-FRAC).
In conclusion, a deceptive meme circulated online showing an Islamic flag draped over a Hindu idol in a temple in Chhattisgarh, India, where Hindus and Muslims regularly pray together. Several comments implied that the Waqf Board had assumed control of the temple.
